On the occasion of World Heart Day, a one-day symposium was hosted by Actoverco Pharmaceutical Company in coordination with the World Heart Federation and accompanied by specialized cardiovascular associations in Iran and attended by more than 150 physicians and cardiologists.

According to Actoverco’s Public Relations, the main focus of the meeting was on medical ethics and the necessity of physicians’ focus on patients’ avoidance of harmful habits for heart.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Fereydoon Nouhi, President of the Iranian Heart Association, stated that the goal of this year’s World Heart Day slogan is to raise awareness and attract public participation in achieving heart health for members of society.

Dr. Azarakhsh Mokri, the psychiatrist, also stated in the program: “Since obesity is one of the influencing factors in the incidence of heart disease, we must admit that quitting addiction to fattening food is more difficult than quitting drug addiction.”

In the rest of this program, seven motivational scientific lectures were presented by prominent cardiologists, psychiatrist, endocrinologists and gastroenterologists.
