Following the Food and Drug Administration’s order to collect Losartan drug with Indian active ingredient from the supply level, the Iranian company “Actoverco” announced in a statement that it has issued an immediate stop order to sell Losartan drug to distribution companies and the drug collection process from the pharmacies has started.

According to the public relations of Actoverco Group, following the correspondence of the Food and Drug Administration on July 2, 2019 regarding the recall (collection) of Losartan drug of Actoverco  company, unfortunately, unrealistic and baseless themes were published by a few media, which by exaggerating and spreading lies about Losartan drug and creating concern and anxiety in the public mind, have posed a series of accusations and untrue information about Actoverc company with a history of 50 years.

1. As soon as Actoverco group received the recall correspondence from the Food and Drug Administration, has ordered the immediate cessation of Losartan’s sale to distribution companies, and the process of collecting the drug from the pharmacies has begun.

Drug recall is a common occurrence in the pharmaceutical industry that occurs due to various factors, so that since the beginning of 2017, FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) recalled about 1000 cases of drug and food products and this issue is precedential in our country, too. Given that all these cases are carried out by the order of the Food and Drug Administration and through legal channels, it is questionable and unfortunate why this time and unlike previous cases, drug recall has caused so much concern and anxiety in the public minds?!
