Bempelid plus is the brand name of a fixed dose combination product includes Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe which is manufactured by Actoverco Pharmaceuticals.
Bempedoic acid inhibits ACL enzyme in liver and reduces level of bad cholesterol, Ezetimibe reduces bad blood cholesterol levels by preventing the digestive absorption of cholesterol.

What is Bempelid plus® used for?
- Bempelid plus is used along with diet, with or without other cholesterol-lowering medicines, to reduce LDL (bad cholesterol) in adults with high blood cholesterol levels called primary hyperlipidemia, including a type of high cholesterol called heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH).
- Bempedoic acid, as a component of Bempelid plus is used:
- to lower the risk of heart attack and heart procedures like stent placement or bypass surgery, in adults who are unable to take recommended statin treatment (a cholesterol-lowering medicine), or are not taking a statin, who:
- have known heart disease, or
- are at high risk for heart disease but without known heart disease.

Important points before taking Bempelid plus®:
- Do not take bempelid plus if you are allergic to bempedoic acid, ezetimibe or any of the ingredients
- Before taking bempelid plus, talk to your doctor if you have or had a history of gout or tendon problems
- Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney problems or moderate or severe liver problems
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. your healthcare provider should decide if you will take bempelid plus or breastfeed. You should not do both.
- Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements especially if you take simvastatin (may increase the risk of developing muscle pain or weakness), fibrates, cholestyramine, cyclosporine
Important points when taking Bempelid plus®:
- Tell all your health care providers that you are taking this medicine. This includes your doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and dentist
- Take Bempelid plus exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it
- You may take Bempelid plus with or without food
- If you take a medicine that lowers cholesterol by binding bile acids, such as colesevelam or cholestyramine, take Bempelid plus at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after you take bile acid binding medicines
- Your healthcare provider may do blood tests to check your LDL-C levels between 8 to 12 weeks after starting treatment with Bempelid plus
- In case of an overdose, get medical help
Side effects of Bempelid plus®:
- increased levels of uric acid in your blood
- tendon rupture or injury. Tendon problems can happen in people who take bempedoic acid, one of the medicines in Bempelid plus especially if you are over 60 years of age, take antibiotics (fluoroquinolones), have or had tendon problems, have renal failure or take steroids
- symptoms of the common cold
- pain in shoulder, legs, or arms
- Anemia
- back pain
- increased liver enzymes
- diarrhea
- fatigue
- bronchitis
What can I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses
How should I store this medicine?
Store Bempelid plus in the original package at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
