Manazil is the brand name for a combination of two anti-Alzheimer’s medications: Donepezil and Memantine. It is manufactured by Actoverco pharmaceutical factory and is used to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease in patients who are stabilized on a daily dose of 10 mg Donepezil.
Donepezil works by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, while Memantine works by blocking NMDA receptors, and both are used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Extended-Release Capsule 7/10 containing:
7 mg Memantine Hydrochloride (ER) + 10 mg Donepezil Hydrochloride

14 mg Memantine Hydrochloride (ER) + 10 mg Donepezil Hydrochloride
Extended-Release Capsule 21/10 containing:
21 mg Memantine Hydrochloride (ER) + 10 mg Donepezil Hydrochloride
Extended-Release Capsule 28/10 containing:
28 mg Memantine Hydrochloride (ER) + 10 mg Donepezil Hydrochloride
Inform your doctor if:
• You have liver or kidney problems.
• You are allergic to this medication or any of its components, or to other drugs, foods, or substances.
• You are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medication, herbal products, vitamins, or supplements.
• Inform all your healthcare providers that you are taking this medication.
• Due to the nature of Alzheimer’s disease, this medication is not a cure. You will still require regular follow-ups by your physician.
• If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, inform your doctor so benefits and risks can be evaluated.
• Until you know how the medication affects you, avoid driving or performing tasks requiring alertness.
• Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Read all instructions and medication guides carefully and follow them.
• Take the medication in the evening.
• It may be taken with or without food.
• Swallow the capsule whole. Do not chew or crush it.
• Do not use capsules that appear damaged or abnormal.
• If unable to swallow whole, you may sprinkle the capsule contents onto applesauce. Swallow immediately without chewing.
• Continue taking the medication even if you feel better unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
Although rare, some individuals may experience severe or life-threatening side effects. Contact your doctor or seek immediate medical care if you experience:
• Signs of allergic reaction: rash, hives, itching, swelling, blistering, etc.
• Difficulty urinating
• Fever, chills, or sore throat
• New or worsening breathing problems
• Seizures
• Abdominal pain or chest burning
• Black, tarry, or bloody stools
• Vomiting blood or material resembling coffee grounds
• Slow or irregular heart rate
• Unusual bruising
Most medications may cause side effects, but many people experience mild or no reactions. Contact your physician if any of the following persist or become bothersome:
• Diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort
• Loss of appetite
• Dizziness or confusion
• Muscle cramps
• Fatigue or weakness
• Sleep disturbances

• Do not store the medication in the bathroom.

• Do not use after the expiration date.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
• Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular scheduled time.
• Do not take two doses at once or increase the dose to make up for a missed one.
